A truly epic designer treehouse

Do you love an old-school treehouse – a couple of planks of wood attached to a sturdy branch or two, with a tarp thrown over for good measure? Well, we’re about to blow your minds – because apparently this is what a modern day treehouse looks like.

It’s not exactly your knock-together-on-a-spare-weekend type of treehouse, but we do love children’s products injected with a healthy dose of designer flair. And this lofty creation is right up there in the treehouse hall of fame.

Sharon Davis Design is the brilliance behind this fabulously frivolous creation, which sits on an old farmstead in Garrison, New York.

The surroundings are absolutely breathtaking – both in summer and winter, and the land itself is a beautiful child’s plaything. But the addition of this huge, multi-levelled treehouse takes it to epic status.

The treehouse is named as such because of its height, and the fact it’s nestled among some stunning trees. It has two levels, a main floor and a crow’s nest – and the entry is one that kids will adore. The way in is through a custom climbing net and trap door.

A ladder then leads up through another trap door and up to the crow’s nest. Up here, a delightfully crafted mahogany writing desk provides plenty of room for creativity. Or the kids can just wistfully stare off into the adjoining meadow and apple orchard. Sigh.

The custom stainless steel slide, which connects both floors, adds a touch of industrial glam.

Once the day’s play is done, just slip down the firemen’s poles and back down to earth.
