Welcome to Treetop Toy Shop, the most amazing little toy shop I’ve ever seen. Owner Rachel Arkovits opened the store in my inner northern Melbourne suburb of Brunswick only a few weeks ago, just in time for Christmas. And if you’re a lucky local like me, you’ve still got time to pop in and grab some beautiful toys that will make your kids’ eyes pop on Christmas morning.
It’s almost as if Rachel opened the store with Babyology in mind because she’s got all our favourites. There’s Wheely Bugs, wonderful food-shaped knitted rattles from Lark, those sweet retro-style mixing and breakfast sets from Le Toy Van and oodles of wooden toys from Pin Toy, Plantoy, Djeco and Bajo. There’s a dozen different rattles, fire stations, tree houses, dolls houses, pirate ships, ovens, cars, puzzles, toys to pull, stack, whack or sort and an incredible selection of wooden food for pretend play.
Rachel also carries a fabulous selection of clothes from Pure Baby and Oobi, as well as my favourite for kids’ hats, Toshi. Then there’s art smocks, books, bibs, Alimrose Designs fabric toys, stunning Kate Finn dolls, Cocoon Couture, and so very much more. All contained in the sweetest little shop you’ll ever see. Honestly.
