August at Babyology was ‘competition central’, with our monthly prize and Prizeapalooza amongst our most viewed posts.

Leading the way was our competition to win one of three Silvercross Wayfarer prams (the lucky winners were revealed here) It seemed we all wanted to get our hands on the Wayfarer and we can understand why – Silver Cross is synonymous with British elegance and the Silver Cross Wayfarer is the epitome of contemporary style and practical features – a simply smashing combination!

But that wasn’t our only competition in August! In fact, we had thirty-one days of fabulous prizes as part of Prizeapalooza. There were forty-seven Prizeapalooza winners, taking home thousands of dollars worth of prizes ranging from furniture and nursery decor to maternity fashion and even dinner!

Sometimes we cover an issue on Babyology that our readers return to again and again. Such is the case with our post on the real shape of motherhood. It generated loads of discussion when it was published in April last year and in August readers came back for another look. Since writing that post I know my opinion hasn’t changed – the female body remains a marvelous thing.

Mandi’s list of must-have baby items had expectant parents reaching for their shopping lists. The list included big-ticket items such as the Bugaboo Cameleon pram and the Hushamok bassinet as well as a nappy bag that had me green with envy!

Finally, it was the boys turn to party with our post on the ten best birthday party ideas for boys. There were all sorts of great parties to draw inspiration from including a beautifully themed aeroplane party to barnyard fun for the littlies.

Katrina Whelen

Katrina studied planning and design, did the hard yards working in a big office building and then traded it all in for a relaxing (!) life at home with four children. She now fills her time with writing, completing a degree in genetics and taxiing her children around Melbourne to their various sporting commitments (not necessarily in that order).
