For many, the beginning of August marks the end of Dry July and hopefully the start of warmer weather. But there is still time to see what got our online community talking last month. Come and revisit the top parenting news posts in July, from adorable videos to cute comics that kept us warm through the cool winter nights.
What topped the charts this month? It was this pregnant mum and adorable daughter’s dance-off. Five-year-old Jaylyn and her heavily-pregnant mumma show the world how it’s done with this down-to-earth dance. Just because you can’t see your feet doesn’t mean you can’t dance up a storm with your daughter!
Our readers also loved this hilarious breastfeeding parody video which showcases four reasons why you shouldn’t breastfeed in public. The tongue-in-cheek video is as clever as they come and a must-watch for any mum, especially those who have been given the stink eye while feeding baby out and about. Because, clearly, you’re trying to seduce other women’s husbands by doing it.
These cute posters remind passengers to be kind to pregnant women and caused quite a stir last month. Created by Shanghai designer Shiyang He, they were intended to encourage passengers in China to give up their seats to pregnant women. And we are just loving them! After all, people carrying “food babies” don’t deserve a seat over people carrying real babies.
Another popular post in July was our ten laugh-out-loud parenting comics created by a dad and featuring a family of ducks. If you’ve ever tried to explain the joys of parenthood to someone who isn’t a parent, show them these adorable comics instead.
We also reported on the tragic death of two toddlers who were crushed under Ikea MALM dressers. A worldwide safety recall followed the two deaths and our post, Ikea urges parents to fix drawers to walls after two toddlers die, got the entire community sending their condolences to the families.
What are some of the other posts that were popular for our Babyology readers last month? Check out what a post-baby belly of a fit mum really looks like, the parenting promises we all make…and then break and the children’s pain medication recalled due to choking concerns.
