Boy oh boy, are you in for a treat. This post is all about a completely fabulous label that’s just for little men, so let’s hear it for the boys!
Our Bubble London coverage gave you a teaser on Tom & Drew Boys, but allow me to flesh out the preppy goodness that is this all-American boys’ fashion label.
I’ve been an admirer of Tom & Drew Boys for a little while, both for its philosophy of letting boys be boys (in style), and simply for its awesome clothing. Having two sons has taught me if you want stylish and unique boys’ clothing, be prepared to search far and wide – but labels like Tom & Drew Boys prove it’s worth the extra work to find fashion little boys look great in.
The upcoming Tom & Drew Boys collection for spring/summer 2013 is all out to sea, and who doesn’t love a nautical theme? Titled Call Of The High Seas, it’s inspired by the exploits of both fictional and genuine travelers, including Christopher Columbus, Odysseus and Captain Cook.
The collection ensures it steers a course true to the label’s classic preppy style (albeit with a fresh feel). Inspired by vintage America, there’s no mistaking the undercurrent of the next collection.
The spring/summer collection still uses the staple fabrics of the Tom & Drew Boys wardrobe, including soft prima cotton, linen, madras and silk. But next year the tried and true materials will be joined by Japanese Kurabo denim in indigo wash, and yarn dyed denim in bright green and caramel.
The primary colour pallet is riding high on the Tom & Drew Boys wave, with vivid reds, sunshine yellows, greens and blues. Checks and gingham round off the nautical look.
And in a welcome move, there’ll be something for the smaller set, with the introduction of TDb – a collection for children aged twelve to thirty-six months.
Tom & Drew Boys has stockists worldwide, including Australia.
