Since reproducing twice over, our love for mid-century design has taken a backseat. The time we used to spend long Saturdays
sipping lattes in peace and reading up on retro interior marvels is long gone, and admittedly, we miss our pleasant hobby.
I’ve been looking for ways to balance both parenthood and our interests
as individuals. What a lovely thing to involve our children
in appreciation for mid-century design, and indeed adorning them in the
most iconic of pieces!
These tees and onesies at Etsy’s
tinymodernists will show your impeccable tastes, with
beautifully cut felt renditions of the Eames Shell Rocker Chair and La Chaise and Arne Jacobsen’s Swan Chair.
They’ve even included a modern classic we all know and love, Starck’s Ghost Chair for Kartell.
Depending on whether you choose a t-shirt or a onesie, they’re available in an assortment of colours – red, black, white and
pink and blue. In the long-sleeved onesies, perfect for winter, they also come in wonderful shades of olive green and heather grey.
Tees are US $19 and onesies $22 plus $5 shipping, from
tinymodernists. Now I’m off to find my old design books to leaf
through with my boys. Perhaps they’ll grow up to equip their parents with all the mid-century gems we can house!
