You know that feeling when the Christmas spirit trumps the Christmas aesthetic? Yeah. That’s just what’s happening at actor Rachel Bilson’s place.
“When you let your three-year-old pick out the tree,” The OC and Hart of Dixie star posted, alongside a cute sparkly photo featuring a very spindly but heart-filled tree.
The humble-yet-cute tree is adorned with candy canes, baubles and other festive finery, and what it lacks in lushness it makes up for in enthusiasm. It’s the perfect three-year-old choice and we’re here for it, Briar Rose!
Mum-of-one Rachel and (apparent) ex-partner, actor and Star Wars star Hayden Christensen, began dating in 2007 and became parents to daughter, Briar Rose, in October 2014. Sadly, the pair reportedly split a month or two ago, although they appear not to have spoken about this in detail.
Hayden’s pretty tight-lipped about his little girl, but he did tell the Hallmark Channel that the couple’s daughter’s name had some heavy Disney influences.
“There is a Disney reference there,” he confirmed. “The original Sleeping Beauty was called Briar Rose. We both love all things Disney, but Rachel especially was very keen on the name.”
“I have this little angel in my life now and Rachel and I are so thrilled,’ Hayden said. ‘We don’t sleep as much as we used to, but it’s all so worth it.”
“I’ve always wanted kids”
For Rachel, kids always featured prominently on her bucket list, as she told Health magazine back in 2014.
“I’ve always wanted to be a mom. I have always wanted kids. I can just see this little toddler waddling around the house.”
The pair have guarded Briar Rose’s privacy very actively, apparently going so far as to avoid air travel – and lurking paparazzi – in favour of driving across the country. They’re careful not to show their daughter’s face on social media and are part of the No Kids Policy movement, which aims to prevent celebrity kids being photographed without consent.
We’re delighted to share in the Christmassy feels from Chez Bilson and wish this gang all the best for the festive season.
