After calling out to my kids from one end of the house to the other, my six year old ran into the kitchen, breathless with excitement, and said “Mum, did you just say we could have a Nintendo and a Wii?!”. I laughed, because what I’d actually said was “Finish your Ben 10 game and come here for tea”. Nice try.
Although my eldest would like to think he is old enough for electronic games, I think otherwise. When he does get the gaming green light though, I’m sure he will want a Slouchpod, the newest must have accessory for serious gamers.
The Slouchpod has been hailed as the next generation in beanbags. Like a beanbag, it moulds to the shape of your body. However the Slouchpod also includes a list of features to make gadget fans and media junkies swoon. Speakers at the headrest for high quality sound, a bass box under the seat so that you can ‘feel’ the sound, and a back-lit digital control panel for MP3 players, games consoles, TV/DVD and computers (see pictures below). You may never actually leave this seat!
The Slouchpod comes in a choice of six colours, from a subtle stone to funky fuchsia. The chairs can be linked up for games with multiple players.
So even if your kids aren’t up to electronic games just yet, I’m sure there are plenty of big kids (mums and dads) who could put in some serious hours on the Slouchpod, even if it’s to just settle back and listen to music.
The Slouchpod is available for a limited time at £149. Although Slouchpod only ship within the UK (so you would need a freight forwarder), a number of online stores are also carrying the chair, but with a heftier price tag (£199-299).
