Pieces about mummy shaming, breastfeeding, new babies, tantrums, phantom pregnancies and royal bubs were all keenly devoured by readers who appreciated the candid shares of high-profile types.
This photo of Pink getting ready for work, in hair and make-up, as she feeds then 6-month-old baby Jameson sparked outrage in some quarters, as people reprimanded her for oversharing. Sigh.
“Jameson can multitask too,” a proud-as-punch Pink posted. The anti-breastfeeding pile-on then began, but there were also a heap of positive comments, which we shall focus on instead!
“Beautiful! A perfect ambassador for breastfeeding,” a follower applauded.
“We’re seven weeks in and it’s been a struggle , seeing you post things like this reminds me it does get easier,” another wrote.
Back in May, a cryptic update from Emma Wiggle sparked excitement that the newly-married children’s entertainer might be expecting a baby.
“🍂🍃🌼🍃🍂 #staytuned” Emma posted under a photo of herself and husband Lachy. Fans thought this meant the couple had baby news to share, but it actually meant that she was starting a whole new study adventure.
“Very excited to be embarking on a year of research ready for my PHD at Macquarie Uni ✋🏻 I’m exploring film, dance and sign language and this is the start of my journey,” Emma explained in a subsequent update.
Chrissy Teigen shared a photo of daughter Luna in her car seat back in July and scanctimommies were very, very quick to pile on, telling the TV host and model that she was doing it wrong. Chrissy noted that she’d stared very, very hard at the image, searching for possible shaming targets, before finally uploading it to social medial.
“Oh trust me, I looked at that chest plate for 10 minutes before posting!” she told one follower. No matter though because the criticism began as soon as she hit “post”, with follower after follower telling Chrissy the chest plate was too low and the seat was not eco-friendly. It’s just one example of the countless times Chrissy’s come under fire for breathing/living/parenting. Make it stop.

Parents accepted the challenge Beyonce threw out, donning veils, Speedos, Peppa Pig capes and fluffy slippers in the hopes of matching – indeed possibly one-upping – Bey’s postpartum look.

“Ed Sheeran responds to his baby lookalike with three carefully chosen words”, we wrote. You liked that. You were curious. You wanted to know what he said. Perhaps you wanted to see the baby, too? Here are the three words – “She’s not mine!” And here is the baby. You’re welcome.
The gorgeous and relatable Drew Barrymore was keen to let us know we weren’t alone when it came to parenting struggles, and tantrums in particular.
“If you’ve ever taken your kids to Disneyland or Disney World, it all ends at some point in mayhem,” Drew admitted as she shared a photo of one of her daughters freaking the heck out in a very horizontal and extremely public way about something incredibly important. It was not the first time this had happened, and we are certain it won’t be the last.
“That is a legitimate picture of my daughter just losing it on the floor,” she explained earnestly. “In this case, she wanted to chase a duck.” Seems legit.
“There have been plenty of times in my life I’ve had to suck things up — but this was the most challenging time I’ve had to do that,” Megan revealed as she talked about the devastating miscarriage she suffered after the birth of her first child, River.
Megan and fiancé Shaun Hampson welcomed their second baby, a little girl named Rosie, in late September.

WHEN 3 BECOMES 4 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Our darling little bun came out of the oven earlier this week 🍞 Sweet little soul. You are already so blessed. Healthy as can be with a family that has fallen head over heels in love with you. A big brother that is already so attentive and protective, (who has also handled all these big changes like a boss ) a Dad who is so smitten with you and that you already have firmly wrapped around your little finger. And myself, who's been so lucky to have carried you in my belly for 9 months and to have had the pleasure and privilege of birthing you into this world (and can I just say .. we nailed it kid 👊🏼). I'm so committed to being the absolute best mother, friend and role model for you. Thank you for choosing me to be your Mama, my darling girl 💖
“At first, it broke me down,” JT admitted during a February interview. “Those first eight months felt like those old shows where people are balancing spinning plates on poles — except if you drop one, they die.”
Justin’s relatable thoughts summed up the bewildering-yet-thrilling early days, weeks and months of dad life, and it was a relief to hear such a candid share from someone who could just pretend they have it all together.
9. Meghan and Harry’s “baby news”
With the news that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry truly were engaged came the confusing information that any future babies they might choose to/be lucky enough to have would not be baby prince or princesses. Wait, what?
We found out, in fact, that The Queen must write a special Letters Patent to rule that Meghan and Harry’s children can use these titles. She did this in the case of Princess Charlotte, who did not automatically have her title at birth (unlike Prince George, who did!) We’re guessing she’s got her pen at the ready for this royal couple’s offspring, too.
