A few months ago we featured Spoonflower on Babyology. For readers that missed the wonder that is Spoonflower, it is essentially a company that prints short runs of fabric designed by you. If you’re like me and think that sounds fantastic but would be a little reluctant to test your own design skills, then Inmod might be more your scene. At Inmod you can design your own cushions, allowing you to customise those all important finishing touches for a room.
Half the fun at Inmod is playing around with different combinations of patterns, colours and decorative finishes for your cushions.
There are lots of pattern themes suitable for children, with the designs in the ‘Wildlife’ and ‘Pop Culture’ sections a good starting point. Once you have chosen your image, pick your fabric – a good range is available including cotton, linen or silk blends – cushion size and colours for fabric and embroidery. Whilst colour options for the cushion fabric are limited to fairly neutral tones, there is a broad range of colours available for the embroidery of the design image, providing a good contrast.
Prices for cushions range from US$45 – $80, depending on the size and fabrics selected. Inmod ship to Australia by arrangement.
