Ikea. I think we’ve all heard of the iconic store, even if we don’t have access to one. Even my family back in the US know it well and they are more than 450 kilometers from the nearest Ikea! It’s famous worldwide and for good reason. They produce affordable, well-designed furniture and homewares.
I have to admit to taking a long time to appreciate the Ikea experience. The stores are set up differently to any other establishment I’ve ever shopped in. However, that was the factor in the end that had me, combined with the inspiration I inevitably gleaned upon each visit.
So when I initially heard about the new Ikea Duktig play kitchen (part of the Duktig range), I was thrilled. I have always found that play kitchens are either covered in licenced characters or have very traditional Victorian lines. Neither of those options suit our house or decor, so I’ve resisted purchasing a play kitchen. Until now. The Duktig kitchen features Ikea’s trademark clean lines and simplicity yet will still encourage any budding little chef to cook up a storm.
Head over to your local Ikea to pick up a Duktig play kitchen, priced at $249. It’s currently not on the Ikea website but is available in store.
