The Misfits – dolls that celebrate ‘imperfections’

The saying “nobody’s perfect” is true (although it doesn’t necessarily wash with a kid who is upset about getting glasses or braces on their teeth).

Celebrating our imperfections are The Misfits, a collection of funny little dolls with all sorts of differences. The Misfits’ slogan, ‘Solving a world of insecurities, one felt doll at a time’ hints at the gentle humour behind these unique dolls. There’s Frankie Four Eyes, complete with taped-up glasses who boasts “I have super fantastic 8/20 vision”; Curly Connie with her wild red hair; and Bucky, a loveable little guy with buck teeth.

There are twenty-four dolls in the collection and although some are a little cheeky and not suitable for children (such as Frances Funbags and No Rug Doug – “Less hair has more flair”) there are plenty of relevant ‘insecurities’ included – being too short, too tall and even lacking courage.

There’s some lovely sentiments behind The Misfits, notably the themes of self appreciation and their catch-cry, “I like me, do you?” – they’ll certainly stand-out in the doll collection!

Each Misfit is handmade and comes with a story book and accessories. The dolls are CAD$19.95 each and are available from The Misfits Etsy store.
