The magic bed

Any piece of furniture that is truly multi-purpose is going to be good, particularly in increasingly space-strapped homes – which is why we’re big fans of the clever pieces from Nonjetable. Most recently we reviewed their range of shelving that features nifty ‘hidden extras’ and the newest piece in the collection, the Adaptable Bed, will not disappoint those who want more from their furniture.

So what features does the Adaptable Bed have that earn it a ‘multi-purpose’ label when really, all people expect from a children’s bed is a comfortable place to sleep? Basically, the bed frame hides a whole set of furniture suitable for children’s rooms aged from three years up.

Under the base of the bed are three large storage drawers which can be configured to serve various purposes. The two smaller drawers can become bedside tables and the chest at the end of the bed can serve as a table or a padded bench seat. The chest also transforms the bed from  toddler size to junior size. The bed comes with a 100 per cent cotton futon mattress in two pieces so it can be configured different ways.

The Adaptable Bed is available in black birch or whitened birch and costs £1,546. The bed is available from the Little Fashion Gallery who will ship internationally (at a cost of £433).
