I’m yet to cross the bridge of being a parent to a pre-teen or ‘tween’ (thank god!) but that doesn’t stop me from appreciating good design in the tween fashion stakes.
I know it can be nigh on impossible to please the fashion conscious seven-to-fourteen age set. I can remember it being an endless battle around that age of what was cool to wear and what my mother deemed suitable. The two sides hardly ever married up.
That’s where The Lost Girls by Minkpink clothing label is very successful. Their range of girls clothing for tweens has its finger on the fashion pulse but is also age appropriate (a huge must) and there’s bound to be an item that will make both parent and child happy.
My personal faves – what I’d be happy for my own daughter to wear at this age – includes the Minnie Waisted Skirt (a cute polka dot confection), any of the massive range of fun tees (no garish or inappropriate stuff here) and the Art Class Maxi Dress. The Lost Girls entire range is available at all Myer stores.
