The Lego vault

Every so often, we blog about another blogger – such is the way of cyberspace! When I read a little piece about the Lego vault by Jesus Diaz of Gizmodo, I immediately recognized some similarities with my own ‘Lego childhood’. Like Diaz, I was born in 1972 and grew up in the ‘Golden Age of Lego’. For every birthday and Christmas for many, many years, my brother and I always gave each other Lego – the surprise was which particular set.

Memories of playing with Lego are some of my most cherished and I still remember being totally immersed in what I was building and the satisfaction I felt with the end result. Needless to say, when I read Diaz’s blog on the secret Lego vault I was very jealous! Diaz was lucky enough to take an exclusive tour of the vault, located in a basement in Billund, Denmark, the home of Lego headquarters. The vault contains every single Lego set ever-produced – all still boxed in pristine glory. Watch Diaz’s video and the memories will start rushing back.
