The Castello bunk bed from Plyroom – a place for rest and play

If you look at this bunk bed and see a retro caravan, you are not alone. Inspiring creativity by day and restful sleep by night, the Castello bunk from Plyroom has been designed to recall the fun and adventure of an old-school family road trip – when iPads didn’t exist and more simple fun was had on the road. My daughter will soon make the move from cot to bed and (as much as I’m resisting this big step) I have to admit that something like this would be so cute in her room!

Available only in the lovely natural finish you see in the photos, the bunk has no metal parts and is made entirely from European Birch ply. The ladder can be positioned on either side of the bed, depending on your room shape, and the top bunk sits slightly lower than standard so it’s easy – and safe – to access.

For sleepovers, the bed comes with an optional trundle, which fits neatly underneath when it’s not in use. You can also add guard rails for the lower bunk if you have a restless little sleeper on your hands.

The design incorporates a sweet little ‘window’ on each end of the lower bunk, delivering that on-the-road caravan feel and doubling as a display area for arts and crafts. I’m also picturing an awesome cubby house for the younger ones or a cool chill-out area for your oldest.
