Sweet Abigail reaches miracle milestone

It is the milestone she was once never expected to reach but gorgeous little Abigail is celebrating her first birthday. Take a look at this little darling now.

Abigail

She’s the sweet little bundle of beauty, who captured our hearts when her parents released the most stunning newborn photos of their little girl born with Down Syndrome, a brain tumour and expected to live mere days.

But fear was replaced with elation when doctors discovered the tumour was benign.

Despite many health setbacks, Abigail has made it through her first year and it was a miracle milestone her mum Erika could not help but reflect on in a touching post on Facebook.

“I imagined hundreds of scenarios. But never envisioned I’d have this beautiful smile one year later,” she writes.

“What a journey we’ve had. A baby, who was not supposed to have another birthday, turns one today. Happy first birthday Abigail Noelle!”

Erika recalls the night she went into labour, four days before a scheduled C-section and 12 days before Abigail’s due date.

“I was terrified. I needed just a little more time,” Erika writes.

“In my belly, I could keep you safe. Out in the world, I didn’t know what would happen.”

The besotted mum expressed her gratitude for making it this far with her daughter.

“Thank you Lord for this day! And thank you for all the love, prayers, and support you’ve given to our family over Abigail’s first year,” she writes.

The family released this moving video tribute to Abigail, showing the journey to now on Youtube. If you can watch it without tears, you’re doing better than us!

From all of us at Babyology, we wish Abigail a very happy first birthday.
