They say a picture tells a thousand words – and this is never more true than when you’re a parent attempting to capture and preserve the myriad of special moments that occur in your child’s life every single day.
Photographer Ana Rosenberg knows this too well. A stay-at-home mum based in New Jersey, she documents the lives of her two muses, 11-year-old daughter Analis, and eight-year-old Alexander and their menagerie of furry friends to create a time capsule of images they will cherish in years to come.
In her most recent project, My Son and His Pets, Rosenberg captures that rare unguarded intimacy between a boy and his beloved animals that is so seldom seen.
Shot in black and white, Rosenberg says of the series, “I wanted to capture the wonderful world between my son and his pets. I love how a split second moment can tell you a whole story.”
“I’m passionate about creating timeless emotional imagery. I love when things are a bit different, unusual or odd. I see myself drawn to flaws. I am the happiest when I let go the conventional notion of ‘perfect’.”
Ana Rosenberg is a photographer, artist and mother of two.
