Make sure you pick your jaw up off the ground in time to make the winning bid on Babyology’s charity auction for the most coveted pram in recent history; the Bugaboo Donkey! We have the honour of auctioning the very first signed Bugaboo in the world! Plus, you’ll be helping an important cause to virtually eliminate HIV-transmission from mother to child in 2015.
Bidding is now open and all details on how to bid are listed below. Best of luck!
In order to help reach this goal, we are currently auctioning off a beautiful mono-duo-mono Bugaboo Donkey with black base and off-white tailored fabric signed by Bugaboo’s creative design director, Aernout Dijkstra-Hellinga, whom we introduced you to in June after our visit to Bugaboo HQ.
The first two shipments have already completely sold out, so this is your only chance to secure a Bugaboo Donkey that meets Australian standards before January 2012.
Aernout has been at Bugaboo for eight years, the last six designing the Bugaboo Donkey. He even designed his own custom covers for his baby daughter (below).
All proceeds will go to the Global Fund. To date, (Bugaboo)RED has generated enough to cover the cost of providing medication to over 70 000 pregnant women to reach the goal of eliminating mother to child HIV transmission in 2015. With a goal creating an AIDS Free Generation in 2015,, Bugaboo continues to contribute one per cent of its total revenue to the Global Fund.
With more than one thousand children born HIV-positive every day, Bugaboo is committed to reduce this figure to zero in 2015 and you can help by bidding on the amazing one-of-a-kind Bugaboo Donkey – not only will you end up with the pram of the moment and collector toppings, you’ll be actively supporting this goal. We’re delighted to see that Bugaboo has generated enough to help 33,000 more people since our last update in November 2010!
Join us in celebrating the Bugaboo Donkey Australian release by digging deep for charity; get a group together, have a garage sale and sell some of those superfluous belongings! Then go to Babyology’s auction and bid. Make sure you spread the word by sharing it with your friends on your social networks too – the more people in the know, the better.
Some facts about the Bugaboo Donkey:
- There are three seat positions when facing parents and two when reversed
- There are two wheel positions for sand and snow
- The stroller weighs thirteen kilos, each seat can hold seventeen kilos, the side or bottom basket can hold ten kilos and then you can also have a toddler board attached.
- The width of the mono Bugaboo Donkey is 60cm (which is the same as the Cameleon) and the duo Bugaboo Donkey is 74cm wide. This is the narrowest luxury side-by-side duo pram on the market.
- Car seat compatible for one or two children, just click the seat into the frame.
With six whole years in development, you just know it’s going to be good. The mono configuration on offer retails for $1649 and we will include an extra off-white coloured canopy valued at $70. Remember folks, this is a world-first – there is no pram like it on offer anywhere on the planet!
We’ve been on board with the Bugaboo Donkey since the very first announcement so check our extensive past coverage and compare features of the pram with others using our Pram Chooser. See this fascinating video to watch Aernout and the Bugaboo team behind the Donkey talk about the design.
The auction is live now and ends 22 September 2011, so you only have ten days to bid. Best of luck to everyone!
