Emma Bunton aka Baby Spice made all her bookworm boys’ dreams come true, when she scored not one but TWO early copies of the new David Walliams book, from the funny man and author himself!
Hooray for Bad Dad!
The book Bad Dad, illustrated by the wonderful Tony Ross, is due out today in the UK, but that didn’t stop mum-of-two Emma getting her hands on a couple of copies for her bookworm boys.
She was fortunate enough to be on a flight with David earlier this week, and he kindly handed over a pair of brand spanking new editions for her eager young readers.
As you can see from the pic Emma shared on Instagram, they’re utterly stoked with their sneak peek at the new David book, with the comedian a bit of a superstar amongst the early reader set.
It also possibly goes without saying that we were utterly stoked to scroll-upon this photo. We quite rarely catch a glimpse of Emma’s children, 9-year-old Beau and 6-year-old Tate. This bookish snap was a welcome surprise from the (quite rightly) privacy-conscious mum.
Beau and Tate were not the only ones excited about Bad Dad. Emma’s followers were super-impressed – dare we say jealous – of her run-in with David and the surprise book bounty she scored.
“Wow! Does he have a stash of them in his hand luggage?? I would love to be on a flight with him,” one posted.
“My daughter is sooooo jealous!” another follower wrote.
“My boys can’t wait for it!! They love his books,” a Walliams and Bunton fan said.
“We’re so close as a family”
If you’re catching up with where Emma’s at now that the Spice Girls are on ice, you’ll be thrilled to know that she seems super happy and very busy. She’s engaged to former actor turned chef Jade Jones, although in no hurry to get married. The pair have been together for 20 years.
Marriage aside, Emma’s not ruled out having more kids, telling The Sun that one of her sons was determinedly lobbying for a new sibling.
“Tate wrote the sweetest little note to the storks the other day, saying: ‘Please can I have a new baby?’ It’s adorable. He said to me: ‘I’m not sure the storks are real, but I’m going to try!’ We’re so close as a family and do everything together, so they would really love another member.”
This makes perfect sense, as Emma launched a baby-focused business earlier this year. Her latest endeavour, Kit & Kin makes premium – and very cute – bio-degradable nappies, wipes and certified natural skincare for babies.
And if that doesn’t sound busy enough, Emma’s also appearing on the US talent show Boy Band, alongside Rita Ora, Timbaland and Nick Carter.
Phew. It seems that the Spice Girls was just the beginning of Emma’s success trajectory. She’s not a baby anymore, that’s for sure!
