Is it just me or do fitted sheets never seem to do what they claim to do – fit? I’m always tucking the corners back in or forever getting tangled in them. Annoying for me sure, but the same situation for a baby sleeping in a cot or bassinet can be just plain dangerous.
The folks at Snugabub obviously share my pain. They’ve created their range of baby-friendly sheets and blanket after feeling the frustration with the basic bed sheets packs (one fitted sheet, one flat sheet and a pillow case) generally available for bubs. They felt the fitted sheets were sometimes too small, the flat sheets too big and not in line with the safe sleeping guidelines recommended by SIDS and Kids.
Snugabub sheets, designed for newborns and suitable for bubs up to 12 months, are all about making nursery bedding as safe as possible. I love the Snugabub Pure Cotton sheet pack, which includes a fitted sheet, a small top sheet for newborn to three months, a top sheet for three to six months and one for six to 12 months. Each sheet set is 100 per cent pure natural percale cotton and priced at $57.75.
Also available is the Snugabub Premium Blanket, $77, which is actually two blankets for the price of one; one for infants and the other for those between six and 12 months. Or there’s the Snugabub Pure Lambs Wool Cot Blanket set, $137, consisting of one blanket with fitted base corners and wide angled sides that’s suitable for babies aged three to six months, and another suitable for those from six to 12 months.
