My one-year old’s first foray out of the pram and onto a tricycle was love at first sight. She was more than happy to take a ride on her little friend’s shiny pink and blue three-wheeled trike for a trip down to the shops — it was a lot more fun than sitting in her boring pram. She couldn’t wipe the smile from her face and like the Queen she adopted a half wave and toothy grin which she shone to passers-by who caught her eye. It was so endearing that we couldn’t resist buying her a tricycle (which she still adores) for her first birthday.
Had I seen the funky Italtrike red three-wheeler though, it would have been my first choice. Made in Via Piovega, Italy this trike is both traditional and sleek. The company has been making toys for children since 1980 and has recently diversified into kids’ wooden toys, bringing with them vast experience designing quality trikes unparalleled by any other manufacturer. They recommend the Triciclino for ages one through to three and a half — which should give it a lot of use.
