Now this is the way to learn how to cook – in the kitchen with George!
To celebrate the release of George Calombaris’ latest cookbook, Georgie Porgie, George will be hosting the ultimate school holiday activity – cooking demonstrations for kids at St Katherine’s restaurant, Kew, VIC.
Whether your kids are sharpening their skills for the next round of Junior Masterchef or are absolute beginners in the kitchen, Georgie Porgie Cooking for Kids is guaranteed culinary fun. The class is a hands on and interactive introduction to cooking. George will teach kids about how to find the best ingredients and the secrets behind making a delicious meal (that sounds promising!).
Georgie Porgie Cooking for Kids is on October 3, 2011. There are three sessions (9.30am, 1pm or 4.30pm) and the cost is $110 per child. The classes are suitable for children aged eight to twelve years. Online booking is available through St Katherine’s.
If you live outside Melbourne but still want some Georgie Porgie cooking action, pick up a copy of the Georgie Porgie Cookbook, which is targeted at ages eight to eighty. It’s packed with straightforward recipes (organised as an A to Z, from Apples and Bread through to Yoghurt and Zucchini) with some interesting international twists, many with a Greek flavour such as Chocolate Baklava and Greek Salad Cornets. It includes a good range of family meals and sweet treats like the scrumptious sounding Peanut Butter And Strawberry Brittle.
