Safety recall: Emma ‘Wiggles’ hooded jacket recalled for choking risk

recall emma wiggles jacket

Breaking little girls’ hearts everywhere, the highly popular ‘Emma’ Wiggles children’s jacket has unfortunately been recalled this week for safety reasons, as announced by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).

A choking hazard

The cute Wiggles Emma Zip Through Hooded Jacket is yellow with a frill and was available to buy nationally from Big W between the dates 6 August – 20 August, 2017. Supplied by Mistiyarn Pty Ltd, the jacket has since been announced as unsafe due to a defective metal zip slider which can detach and therefore pose a potential choking risk for young children.

What to do if you have one

Anyone who has bought the Emma jacket is being urged to cease using it immediately and return it to Big W where they will receive a full refund.

If you’re unsure if you have the jacket, you can check via the following keycodes which can be found on the reverse side of the care label: 609453, 609454, 609455 and 609456.
