Safety first in the kitchen – lock knives in with LockBlock

I’ve always been an advocate of kids in the kitchen, after all, all Masterchefs have to start somewhere, right? Having the under five brigade ‘helping’ you can sometimes be scary enough without them helping themselves to knife drawers or blocks. We’ve found the perfect solution for knife storage that saves both fingers and blades – the innovative LockBlock.

Made by kitchenware giant, Joseph Joseph, the LockBlock is perfect for those who have curious toddlers and want some serious peace of mind that the kitchen is a safe environment for their children.

The LockBlock knife block locks knives in place perfectly with an unique Cam-Lock mechanism – that can only be released by the firm pressing of a button on the side of the block to release a knife. Pulling the knife out of the block without pressing the release button in only increases the already impressive grip of the LockBlock, so there is no simply forcing a knife out, as seen in the short video below.

The Joseph Joseph LockBlock is sold complete with six handy sized knives and is available locally from Your Home Depot, priced $239.95 with free postage within Australia.
