Ruby Who? Ruby in a book, that’s who!

What do you wish for? If you’re a character named Ruby, it’s golden curls, a cookie, rollerskates and a blue tutu.

Last year we introduced you to a little girl named Ruby. Ruby’s back, as fun and as charming as ever and this time we see Ruby Who? in a book format.

Ruby Who? is about a little girl who discovers that having more and being like others doesn’t mean more fun. In fact, as we see Ruby magically get everything she wishes for we also begin to see that she is weighed down by all her ‘stuff’ and can’t just be herself.

“Come to think of it these wings, this tutu and coat
Are becoming less fun than I firstly had hoped.”

Written in rhyme and targeted at primary-aged children, Ruby Who? follows the format of the short film by the same name. Beautifully illustrated by Alarna Zinn, each page pops with colour and the clever collage effects give each page texture and energy.

The book is a perfect starting point for a discussion with your children about what makes us happy and also the concept of being materialistic.

Ruby Who? is available from I Like to be Me for $19.50.
