Ramalama – the latest in eco-chic maternity and baby essentials

What impresses me most about the brand new range of maternity and baby wear from
(maker of the lovely infant carrier and some stunning nappy bags) is the striking simplicity of the well-cut and obviously super-comfy garments. We mentioned the infant carrier last year and now we are excited about the new range of clothing.

The Organic Maternity Essentials range stays true to Ramalama’s philosophy of designing for ‘the woman in every mother’ – soft, stretchy organic cotton, dyed with gentle organic dyes and with just the right amount of Spandex for stretch.

I’m a bit of a ‘no frills’ girl myself, and these beautiful basics are just what I love to wear during pregnancy and afterwards. I like to layer, yet retain clean lines and that all important comfort. I’m loving the wrap-dress – fabulous to take you from day to night, and lasting well-beyond the birth of your child!

Bamboo has really come to the fore in recent times as the ultimate
in softness for delicate skin. Ramalama’s Bamboo Baby Basics consists of tees, short-sleeved bodysuits, rompers, bibs, leggings and wraps in
four delicious colours – white, putty, granite and black.

I’m enthused about Bamboo’s darker colours for babies. The lighter ones are always lovely, but I’m never averse to putting a bub in black or grey tones as they co-ordinate with other clothes and hide stains well. Let’s face it – babies need changing constantly, and it’s nice not to have to think about matching clothes when you’re rushing out the door.

Bamboo is known for its sustainability, superior absorbency and
insulating properties, making it the perfect material for clothing.
Ramalama has adopted an ecologically sensitive approach in all areas
of their business, from production methods and limited
packaging, right down to how the office is run – they use only recycled
paper, walk to work, car pool or catch public transport, and
use energy efficient lighting. An ecologically credible product needs
an equally responsible company behind it, so they’re also
looking at becoming a carbon neutral office.

These ranges are barely on shelves and already creating a lot of interest. The new baby range is available from
Kidostore. Wrap dress is $165, Skinny Singlet is $55, Scoop Tee is $73. In the
Bamboo Baby range, long-sleeved Tte is $34.95, romper is $52.95, and leggings $29.95.
