Get ready to feel old. Princess Isabella, the eldest daughter of Crown Princess Mary and Prince Fredrik of Denmark, just turned nine. Yes, nine. And we have the stunning photos to prove it.
Amidst all the royal fanfare, Princess Isabella of Denmark – who is half Australian, after all – celebrated her ninth birthday on 21 April, 2016.
Crown Princess Mary (and one of our favourite homegrown mummies) marked the occasion with the release of three beautiful and classic photos she took herself of her stunning daughter in the grand surrounds of the family’s Amalienborg palace in Copenhagen. These snapshots from the royal family photo album show that not only is Mary a doting mum, but also an excellent photographer.
Looking every inch the perfectly poised princess with her beautiful blue eyes and long brown hair, we can’t help but notice there’s a cheeky glint in her eye too that has to come courtesy of Princess Isabella’s Aussie roots.
It may feel like yesterday that Princess Mary and Prince Frederik announced the arrival of their little Princess, but, turns out, it was almost a decade ago (I know, where have the years gone?).
In addition to Isabella, the royal couple also have Prince Christian, born in 2005 and twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, born in 2011. Here’s another photo that Mary took of her twins during a recent trip to Australia and two portraits taken of the children playing outdoors back home in Denmark. Palace officials release the images to mark their fifth birthday earlier this year.
Happy birthday Isabella, Vincent and Josephine – our own little royal Australians!
