We’ve heard that Portland is the spiritual home of all things hipster. You only need to image search “Portland hipster” and you’re inundated with images of folks with beards and nerdy glasses, all of them liking bands before those bands were famous. And in case you needed more proof, from Portland comes Prefresh, a seriously hip maker of custom clothes for kids.
Prefresh’s range includes tees, sweatshirts, hats and even a couple of things for grown-ups. The pieces are designed by an enigmatic husband and wife duo known only as J & T who created the line because, in their own words, “we totally care”.
Kids who wear Prefresh have more radicalness in their pinkies than most adults would ever achieve in a lifetime. Slogans on t-shirts and sweatshirts are clever and on the sharp edge of mischievous, which makes them just the best on kids.
We dare you to find something more hilarious that a hyper two-year-old in a grey marle tee printed with the words “let’s blame the sugar”. The Time to Get Ill Sweatshirt is equally awesome, not to mention apt, for isn’t any time the ideal time to get ill?
The Rock and Roll All Night Tee (US$32) particularly speaks to me these days. I think I’ll get one for my baby who is a total angel by day, and by night is wide awake, ready to trash hotel rooms like a tiny rockstar.
Prefresh clothes come in sizes three months to 10 years, and ship to Australia for US$18 flat rate.
