I see almost every animated movie that is released (not because my kids want to watch them, but because my husband is in the computer animation industry). I am a huge fan of Japanese animation and am pleased to announce PONYO is being released in Australia on August 27.
PONYO was written and directed by the Academy Award winning Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle) and follows the magical story of a young overeager goldfish who falls in love after being rescued by a boy named Sosuke, and sets out on a quest beneath the ocean to become human so they may be together.
The film inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale The Little Mermaid, is a gorgeous feature that can be appreciated by adults (thanks to Miyazaki’s creative genius) and their little ones.
There are two versions of PONYO being screened internationally, the original Japanese version with English subtitles and an English dubbed film which features the voice talent of Cate Blanchett, Matt Damon, Tina Fey, Frankie Jonas, Liam Neeson and Noah Cyrus as Ponyo.
Babyology has 5 family passes to give away (valued at $60 each). The tickets can be redeemed nationally and are valid for four people.
We will be running a special competition in The Babyology Weekly next Monday 10th August, so check to newsletter to see how you can win one of these passes.
I am seeing the film later this week so will let you know all about it, the trailer looks gorgeous.
