“I need help” Jessica Simpson is every mum struggling to deal at preschool grad

Jessica Simpson and family

Well this is all a little bit adorable! Jessica Simpson’s daughter Maxwell just graduated pre-kindergarten and she’s got the full cap and gown ensemble to prove it.

“I need help”

Jess took to Instagram to share a couple of proud mama bear snaps of Max. One is pensive and pondering, the other full of excitement.

She captioned the first shot with a Mariah Carey lyric: “Spread your wings and prepare to fly for you have become a butterfly.”

The second pic showing an irreverent Maxwell in full flight was a little more “days are long, years are short” themed, caption-wise at least…

“Someone is excited for kindergarten! How do all you moms do it? I need help,” Jess wrote, perhaps feeling slightly overwhelmed at just how quickly her cute kiddo is growing up.

“Good job mama!”

Commenters on Jess’s Instagram had plenty of advice on how to smooth out separation anxiety and come to terms with kids’ newfound independence.

“Smile and cry in your car. You can do it !! Enjoy every minute it flies by so very fast your children are adorable” one fan posted.

“Volunteering at her school will help! Good job mama!” another wrote.

“It goes by really fast. Enjoy every year. I always took a picture on first day of school and last day. Good luck Maxi,” a commenter suggested.

Rocky road

Formerly married to Nick Lachey, Jess began dating Eric Johnson – a retired NFL player – back in May 2010. The pair got engaged in November 2010 and went on to marry in 2014.

They have two children together, daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson who was born on May 1, 2012, and a son Ace Knute Johnson, born on June 30, 2013.

Jess appeared on The Ellen Show last month, raising concerns about her health as she appeared breathy, distracted and slurring her words. (Even the veteran Ellen couldn’t work out what was going on. She’s seen mouthing the word “help” at the 4.51 mark of the interview.)

She also came under fire after posting a bikini photo of Maxwell that many followers deemed inappropriate.

Parenting – and indeed life – can be tough at times. We hope Jess is okay and being supported by those that love her best.
