It’s the age-old question – how do couples keep the romance alive when they have kids? As this couple’s anniversary photo shows, it’s no walk in the park.
Let’s face it, we’ve all have days like this – the kids are running amok and we can barely manage to brush our hair, let alone dress up and smile for a camera. For this couple though, the day happened to be their 10-year anniversary. Reddit user Trapiezist posted this photo of his family on the site five days ago with the caption: “10th anniversary today, thought we’d capture the romance.”
It shows the weary-looking parents, surrounded by their children – two of whom are play-fighting with stuffed hippos. The tongue-in-cheek post quickly captured the world’s attention – it even inspired Reddit user FelineWino to turn the image into an oil painting.
Needless to say, Trapiezist’s wife wasn’t overly delighted with her new-found stardom. Two days after the original post, he wrote: “When my wife (found) out how many people had seen a picture of her deliberately looking ragged, it took a while to digest. This picture was taken 10 minutes later, and she’s asked me to post it to show that yes, kids are work, but it’s a good life and we’re actually happy.”
Don’t know about you, but we can certainly relate! How do you keep the sparkle alive in your relationship?
