Kids soak information up like sponges, and while books about unicorns and dragons are fun, John Conveyou of Genius Games thinks toddlerhood is the perfect time to introduce kids to science. In this case, protons, neutrons and electrons with his My First Science Textbooks.
Protons & Neutrons, Electrons, and The Atom are the first three books in the My First Science Textbooks series and they introduce kids to science and the building blocks of matter. The books are written in rhyme and narrated by adorable characters like Pete the Proton, Ned the Neutron and Ellie the Electron.
John is a Kickstarter campaigner by night having launched four successful campaigns before this one, and chemistry teacher by day. He’s taught kids from year five to uni age, and has noticed all age groups experience the same hurdle when learning about science for the first time: they find it intimidating.
John is also father to a toddler, and noticing that she picked up information with incredible speed, he thought introducing science early would remove the intimidation barrier and make science not hard, but normal, and fun. My First Science Textbooks was born.
The Kickstarter campaign has just ended, but if you’re quick you can still get your order in. Due to ship in November 2016, $35 gets you all three books in hardcopy and e-book.
