This calming and charming collection of children’s clothing from Latvia is based around my favourite time of the week – Sunday morning. So, if you’re also a fan of that beautiful couple of hours where the world slows down, you’re sure to love Paade Mode.
While the kids are still trudging through winter in the gumboots and raincoats, the release of spring/summer collections heralds that a turn in the weather isn’t too far away. Latvian clothing brand Paade Mode’s 2014 warm season collection is titled Sunday Morning, celebrating that heady time of family, pancakes and easing into the day.
Paade Mode uses primarily linen, which fits perfectly with that Sunday feeling. Brand owner Linda Raituma describes it like this: “Creasing of linen fascinates me, in my opinion, it is exactly this feature and the feeling of freedom it gives to the body that makes linen an outstanding material. Nobody is perfect, yet at the same time, everyone is special”.
The colour palette and patterns in the new collection also reflect an easy Sunday morning feel, with pastels, florals and embroidery (including an embroidered bird created by artist Edite Kirse).
The collection has a great range of everyday wear and special occasion outfits. The girls can choose from dresses, tunics, shirts, bomber jackets and cardigans. Boys also have a great range of basics, through to smart partywear. The price range is very competitive, for example a girl’s knit dress is around $36, while a pair of boy’s knit Merino leggings is around $50. The spring/summer collection has only just launched at Playtime Paris, so there’s still a little while to wait if you want to see these designs on your kids.
Paade Mode creates clothing for children up to the age of eight, and they can be contacted directly regarding delivery to Australia.
