In less than a year this e-boutique has managed to become a front runner in the burgeoning market that is designer baby bags.
Necessity, as the saying goes, is the mother of all invention. Perhaps that’s why mothers have become the ultimate pioneers when it comes to all things related to parenthood. Such was the case with uber-talented Aussie Rosie Jansen. Not content to continue working life as a banking lawyer based in Singapore, she decided motherhood offered her a whole new career path – and so Tribe was born.
Tribe’s collection of baby bags are quality, luxury and function combined. I could reel off a host a superlatives to describe these breathtaking bags, they are simply stunning.
The Singapore Sling could be described as the flagship bag in the Tribe range. It’s been seen on the shoulders of Hollywood A-listers including Mariska Hargitay from Law & Order SVU, and Grey’s Anatomy’s Sarah Drew. Just as impressive was its recent crowning as the Best Changing Bag in the Junior Design Awards. Made from premium grade, soft-milled cow hide leather, the signature Singapore Sling is as comfortable to wear as it is beautiful to behold. If you’re a fan of a more muted colour pallet, there’s a range of classic hues to choose from. But if like me you prefer to make a statement with your bag, the vibrant colours are perfect.
The Orchard Tote is another fabulous bag in the Tribe family, with classic styling and patent leather, it looks nothing like a nappy bag – just what modern mums desire! I’m a lover of being able to use the same bag for work, and to lug around the kids’ gear.
The Tribe range also includes a stellar unisex bag (the Raffles), which gives dads no excuse but to help tote the baby goods. And the Changi Travel Wallets are the ultimate partner on a commute – and can easily slip inside a Tribe baby bag.
Tribe bags are currently available exclusively through the e-boutique – but here’s a scoop, they’re expected to be available at selected Australian retailers in the coming months – so watch this space!
