Our favourite stores – spotlight on Mamadoo

Busy parents with precious little time to browse bricks and mortar stores for amazing buys, and equally busy mums who are running their own businesses now have a virtual Mecca at which to meet. This brand new, brilliant concept is like an online shopping centre – where all of the baby and child-related shops are run by mumpreneurs.

As you’d expect, this intriguing concept was dreamt up by a very driven mum, Natalie Dinsdale. She spied a gaping chasm in both sides of the supply chain – and created a place where consumers could find pretty much everything and anything for babies and children, as well as a site for small business owners to come together and have power in numbers. Take a look at the video below where Natalie explains the concept further – and as a bonus you’ll no doubt have a good giggle!

Natalie founded Mamadoo in April this year, with that brave concept in mind, and while the business is only a few months old, the fact that it already stocks more than three thousand products is testament to its value. Vendors include Mamaway, Redplum Linen, Jujo Baby, Ripe Maternity and Woddlers.

One of the major pluses for parents and parents-to-be is the vast range Mamadoo carries. The phrase “one-stop-shop” is often bandied around, but in the case it fits the bill perfectly. Parents can easily fit out a nursery, stock the wardrobe with beautiful clothing and shoes for babies and children and buy baby essentials, as well as grab some amazing maternity wear, prams, and fabulous gifts. Be warned, you could lose many hours perusing the virtual shelves – but you can do it cuppa in hand and feet up!

On the other side of the supply chain, Mamadoo has provided a much-needed opportunity for mums running their own online businesses to gain exposure to huge amounts of traffic through the online shopping mall concept. The Mamadoo concept really harnesses the idea of being able to purchase from multiple shops, but go through just one checkout.
