Remember the good old days of milk being delivered to the door and sourcing fresh fruit and vegetables from local growers? No, me neither. It’s more common these days to head to the closest supermarket and load our trolleys with the unknown.
It’s true that convenience has taken priority over the importance of considering where our food comes from and how it is grown. When life gets busy – and show me a family which isn’t busy – it’s easiest to make the quick dash into the supermarket to restock the fruit bowl and fridge, with little knowledge of where the food is coming from. Aussie Farmers Direct have made it their mission to change this mindset and by doing so, they’re looking after both us as consumers and supporting the work of our fantastic Australian farmers.
Eight years ago a small business with a big dream dared to take on the momentous task of changing the way people think about how their food gets to their table. The aim was to encourage Australians to support their Aussie farmers by buying fresh produce locally through Aussie Farmers Direct and ultimately, connecting farmers with families.
Fancy farm fresh produce delivered to your door? No getting the kids in the car, dealing with traffic or even just finding time to do the grocery run, you’re only a click away from organising it to be delivered by a friendly Aussie Farmers Direct ‘Milko’. From the comfort of your home you can order more than 170, one hundred percent Australian products including freshly baked gourmet breads, cheese, meats, seafood, yoghurts, organic fruit and vegetables, just to name a few.
Aussie Farmers Direct make it really easy to order. You can choose a set box – contents vary depending on your residential state and change from week to week. Take a peek at what is in this week’s boxes by clicking on your state on their website. Available in two sizes – family and couple, you can choose from Fruit and Vegetable Boxes, priced from $26, Organic Fruit and Vegetable Box, priced from $39 or several other set boxes available including a Snack Time Box which is ever so handy just to keep that fruit bowl filled! There’s also the flexibility of picking your own box with the Pick Your Own Box option, enabling you to fill it with all your seasonal favourites and skip the things your kids don’t like so much.
Aussie Farmers Direct delivery times and dates are based on location and you can add your last minute orders right until noon the business day prior to delivery. You can order a box whenever you need or subscribe to a regular weekly or fortnightly delivery. This, frankly, sounds like a dream not having to worry about forgetting the kids’ lunch box fruit, not to mention also knowing it’s all grown right here in Australia by our hard working farmers.
