What will the most stylish children’s and maternity wear look like next winter? Say “oui” if you‘d love to get a sneak peek!
We’re counting down to Playtime Paris, the hottest trade show on the planet for all things in children’s and maternity design.
The 19th showcase – with a “Marvelous!” theme – will feature the most talented leading and emerging designers from across the globe. They’ll bring their cutting-edge ideas in fashion, baby gear, homewares and gifts to the world’s most romantic city from January 24-26.
So what’s in store for those lucky enough to be at the Winter 2016-17 fair at Parc Floral de Paris?
They’ll get a first look at Playtime Paris debutantes such as La Petite Collection (above), which promises simple, practical unisex babywear. As it gets ready to celebrate its first birthday, French boutique Marlot Paris will also join Playtime Paris for the first time to present its gorgeous new collection.
Other newbies to the show are pyjama and casual wear designer Petidoux and bag favourite Herschel, showcasing its backpacks for the first time. Joining them as a show newcomer will be Polish brand Miszko Maszko (below) with its collection of unique graphics and bold colours.
Show visitors will get a look at iconic maternity fashion house Seraphine’s new babywear line of Scottish tartans (below), made in memory of Princess Diana. Organisers have also revealed that shoemaker Start Rite will show its new collection at Playtime Paris (see top of post).
Another to look out for is One We Like’s new collection of original prints (below).
Playtime Paris organisers have predicted trends including luxurious fabrics such as velvet, silk and knits. For kids and mums-to-be alike, they expect to see cozy, enveloping fashion with a dreamy edge. The colour palette will range from icy blues to milky whites and beiges, with a hint of metallic and plant or floral notes.
Check out the “trends” section of the Playtime Paris website from January 27 to see the designers’ wares. And of course we’ll also be bringing you the best of the fair, so stay tuned!
