Olivier Baby and Kids – garments for royals and regular folk

Garments by Olivier Baby and Kids will have your little princes and princesses twinning with the real royals.

On her first birthday, Princess Charlotte was photographed by her mum wearing Olivier Baby and Kids’ Cashmere Baby Rose Stitch Cardigan ($136), and then, unsurprisingly, it sold out. Don’t fret, there are myriad other adorable outfit options fit for a little prince or princess.

Dresses for girls are all in classic Liberty prints or pale chambray. Empire waists and flutter sleeves make room for wearing winter skivvies underneath, and the three quarter sleeve dresses ($136) or Peter Pan collar dresses with button-fronts and gathered skirts are perfect under a cardie and worn with woolly tights.

Girls can rug up in the rose knitted Cashmere Peacoat ($116-$146) which is said to be good for cool British spring days, and therefore perfect for a mild Aussie winter.

Although baby Charlotte’s cardie is sold out, there’s one we like better in duck egg blue ($146-$175).

While it’s important to give kids clothes that they can drag through the mud, it’s so refreshing to find classic patterns and colours in a boys’ range. Liberty prints are found in the boys’ shirt collection, mostly in patterns of reds and blues. There are also soft chambray linen shirts ($75-$83), and grandpa collar styles.

Cashmere cardigans ($135-$165) come in jaybird blue, navy or pale grey, and each one has a star detail under the back neckline. Prince George wore his to the polo with his mum, but even if you’re not going to the polo, there’s no reason your boy can’t look his sharpest.

The baby section is full of beautiful heirloom garments you can buy for your baby or give as a gift. The “Bonnet and Bear Hats” section caught our eye because no one can resist a baby with a bear ear hat. Olivier Baby and Kids’ hats ($55) are cashmere, making your baby a very luxurious bear.

The most darling piece in the baby collection has got to be the long cream knit peacoat ($126-$165). With its rounded collar, double buttons and trapeze shape, it’s a gorgeous piece to pop on over a dress or even little drop crotch chambray pants. Keep it away from dirt though, this piece is handwash only.

Olivier Baby and Kids is available online, and shipping to Australia is $37.
