Oishi-m’s spring 2016 collection is here, and it’s full of what the brand does best: pattern mash-ups in comfortable styles.
If you don’t know Oishi-m, it’s a brand designed in Victoria, and it’s made to accommodate various kid body types, from ages three months to six years. It’s a reaction to and a stand against fast fashion. Oishi-m’s garments are designed for functionality and comfort and they endure a few generations of hand-me-down. The new spring 2016 collection honours the brand’s mission with joyful new prints and pattern combinations.
T-shirt sleeves are striped, matched with painterly floating spots and finished with chambray pockets and red popper snaps on the shoulder. Skirts have panels of contrasting florals, and pants can only be described as having all the fabrics. Chambray legs are contrasted with striped cuffs, solid waistbands and a floral centre panel that’s distinctly Oishi-m, and gives kids space to climb and leap without splitting a seam.
Skirts and pants have a stretchy jersey waistband so it’s easy for kids to get themselves dressed – and take themselves to the toilet. If you’ve ever been subjected to the whining of a four-year-old who can’t do up his jeans button, Oish-m’s waistband will be your favourite thing ever.
As always, Oishi-m’s collection is limited edition. Once the styles are gone, they’re gone. First in, really is best – and cutest – dressed.
Oishi-m is available online and next day delivery in Australia is free on orders over $50.
