Newborn knits from Scotland’s Mini McGhee

If you’re lucky enough to have a newborn to cuddle up to, you’ll want some of these soft, luscious lambswool knits to make them even more snuggleworthy.

Knitted baby clothing has made such a comeback, and it’s easy to see why when you look at the benefits of wool. Breathable, natural and soft it’s perfectly suited for newborn clothing.

Mini McGhee is a fusion of time-honoured, artisan techniques and craftsmanship, and contemporary colours to create timeless pieces. Blankets, hats, mittens, socks and cardigans are made in Scotland from the finest British lambswool.

There’s a lovely back story to this label – Mini McGhee is passionate about celebrating and trying to keep alive handicraft skills, as well as reviving local industry. Every piece is either hand-knitted by home workers or made by a local Scottish manufacturer.

A hand-knitted mitten and hat set costs £24, and is available in newborn to six months, or six-to-twelve months.

The beautiful stripe blankets are £65. The hand-knitted socks are £18.

And these stunning Kimono cardigans are £42, plus shipping to Australia – which varies depending on the size of the order.

There are also wares available for older children and women.
