Natural bath toys that won’t go mouldy from Oli & Carol

My daughter is at that age where everything goes straight into her mouth, so I am on the lookout for baby-safe products and these beautiful bath toys are just brilliant. Not only are they baby-safe and eco-friendly, but they won’t go mouldy in the bath. Now that is impressive.

I’ll get to the more practical features in a minute, but first a word about the darling style of Oli & Carol toys. Clearly these are more than just toys, they are design objects.

Oli & Carol toys come in a variety of designs, colours, and sizes that are ideal for babies and big kids (even adult-sized) alike. They have bath toys, teething rings, and decorative objects all with a funky retro feel. Many of the pieces are inspired by icons the 60s and 70s such as beetle cars and the classic rubber ducky. Just gorgeous.

Oli and Carol

The brand is the creation of sisters Oli & Carol who at age 15 and 20 (I know, right?!) decided to blend their love of design and nature into a business. All products are made from natural rubber and painted with food grade dyes making them safe for chewing.

The best design element is that these toys float without the need for a hole in the base. So water will not get trapped inside, which means no bacteria build-up and, best of all, no mould. Genius.

Oli and Carol

You can find out more about the Oli & Carol brand at their website. Unfortunately they do not have a list of Australian stockists so if you spot them in your local shop please let us know! Otherwise you can purchase online through Retro Kids for vintage characters and rubber ducks, or check out the Sisters Guild for the forest collection and paper boat design.

Kate was a regular of Melbourne’s music and film scenes, but these days she is on the mum scene. Mother to one adorable little hipster, Kate loves seeking out the latest trends in technology, vintage-style kids clothing, and offbeat kids products. She is often found riding her bike by the Yarra river with baby on back, heading for a good soy latte at the latest kid-friendly cafe. She wants to get there before it becomes cool. So Melbourne.
