We have a bit of a tradition in our house that the kids get a new pair of pyjamas to wear on Christmas Eve. Apart from helping create a bit of excitement, it always makes for nice photos on Christmas morning! This year we’re ditching reindeers, snowmen and the like, and celebrating a proper Aussie Christmas with some dinky-di Australiana sleepwear from Nat Kitzelman.
Nat, a graphic artist, has launched a line of stunning sleepwear that celebrates some of our very favourite Australian flora and fauna in a most appealing way. For the boys, there’s Cammo Kanga, a two-piece pj sets made from pure, soft cotton . Look closely and you’ll see the camouflage print of Cammo Kanga is actually made up of kangaroos. Clever!
Girls can channel their cheeky sides with the Possum Paisley pjs or the Cockatoo pjs (watch out – frilled neck lizards and other beasties are hiding in the deceptively pretty print), while the unisex blue Koala Crossbones set proves what some zoologists have always believed, that koalas aren’t always quite as cute and cuddly as they look.
Speaking of cute, we’re also quite taken with Nat’s sweet Pouch Tees. The kangaroo motif is certainly cute enough on its own, of course, but what really has us sighing is the too-adorable-for words pocket on the front that lets the little wearer stash all manner of treasures inside. It’s available in red and white t-shirts with contrasting red patterned pouch pockets for girls or in grey or red with a cammo print pocket for boys and costs $30.
Pyjama sets start from size 2 for kids up to size 10 and cost $50. Pyjamas are also available in adult sizes for $65, should the family like to get all matchy-matchy on Christmas Eve.
