It is the one word that every person fears – cancer. For a mum or mum-to-be, this diagnosis can mean a complete life change. As a mum you are the one caring for your family. But what happens when you become sick and cannot care for them or for yourself?
This is exactly why Mummy’s Wish is holding a gala in Brisbane on 30 April 2016 – to help raise funds for the thousands of Australian mums battling cancer.
For more than nine years, Mummy’s Wish has been providing mums and mums-to-be who have been diagnosed with cancer with practical support, care and services to help accommodate this lifestyle change.
Mummy’s Wish can help pay for and arrange for assistance with house cleaning, tutoring, emergency childcare, grocery vouchers, hospital car parking and meal deliveries. It also advises families on managing lifestyle changes associated with a cancer diagnosis, where to go for psychological and other help and support and, for terminal patients, ways to create lasting family memories.
With a 300 per cent jump in the mums they help, Mummy’s Wish are aiming to raise much needed funds through an evening of glitz and glamour for a great cause. While the charity has a number of fundraising campaigns in place, including their talking comfort bears, the Mummy’s Wish Gala is one that sparkles with delight.
This is their fourth annual Mummy’s Wish Gala event, held at Soleil Pool Deck at Rydges South Bank, Queensland on Saturday, 30 April 2016 from 7pm. Tickets start at $195 for a single person or $3500 for a table of 20. All money raised will go towards the mums and families that Mummy’s Wish help each and every day.
