Get ready Sydneysiders – Muji is coming to town! And the Japanese lifestyle store is sure to impress the entire family. Come take a sneak peek at what the new Sydney location, opening 14 May 2015, has in store!
Muji is already making headlines globally with more than 610 flagship stores across 25 countries and after one look inside, it’s easy to see why. The company, established in 1980, is driven on simple aesthetics and no-frills packaging. In fact, Muji is derived from the Japanese name ‘Mujirushi Ryohin’ which translates to ‘no brand quality goods’.
The Sydney store, which will be located on Level 1 of the Galeries at 500 George St in the CBD, will be the third Muji to open in Australia. We previously announced the opening of the first store in Melbourne in 2013, followed by the second at Emporium Melbourne in 2014.
The new Sydney store will specialise in all things for the home, from electronics to furniture, from stationery to bedding. It will also sell men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and accessories, skincare products and travel goods.
We love the basic style and eco-friendliness that has made Muji an international sensation and their products are often featured as our top finds for the family. In a country consumed by labels, this Japanese brand refocuses their goals on producing high-quality, no-label products with animal-inspired apparel and timber furniture. Their products are green in nature including \ pesticide-free cotton towels designed with a grid pattern so they can easily be cut up and recycled into cleaning rags.
The price point of many items may fluctuate due to shipping and currency differences, but Melbourne store manager Antony Arnaz explains that Australian prices are usually only a couple of dollars more.
So will you be checking out the new Muji store in Sydney?
