Not many women feel comfortable enough to post a photo of themselves in their undies on social media, unless they’re Rebecca Judd or Nicole Trunfio. But parenting blogger Constance Hall is not your typical mum. She’s honest. She’s raw. And, quite frankly, she’s awesome.
Her latest social media perfectly exemplifies this. Come and see why Constance Hall is breaking the Internet, one hashtag at a time.
The secret lives of mums
If you’re a fan of social media, then you’ve probably stumbled upon 32-year-old Perth mum and blogger, Constance Hall. She has shot to fame over the past month for her brutally honest and equally hilarious posts about parenting, featuring stories that range from “parent sex” to post-natal depression.
She delves deep into her own life and admits to being an imperfect parent and wife, even owning up to cheating on her partner in the past, and we simply love her for it.
Her latest post, which she put on her Facebook page only today, showcases her true self, both inside and out, with a photo of her cradling her infant, in her undies, messy hair, stretch marks and all. And she looks simply radiant.
In addition to the photo, Constance has asked other mothers to “take a picture of yourselves, a picture that society has deemed you unfit for, because you [sic] too old or skinny or fat or you’ve had too many kids or not confident enough or for whatever reason you have been made to feel like you don’t deserve to love your body or your self [sic]. An undie shot, bathers shot, a grape eating shot (being) fanned by a naked Greek man shot, whatever.”
In the few short hours the post has been up, it has been shared close to 2000 times with thousands of comments and photos of mummies being mummies. Makeup (and clothing) optional.
Constance embraces her body and her imperfections with such strength and power in all her posts, and this latest photo is no exception. She writes, “She’s flawed, She swears, She eats the cake!! She’s skinny, curvy, flabby, has muscle and she loves it.”
Constance is proving she is the queen of social media these days and her hashtag #likeaqueen is the latest sensation that all overtired and under appreciated mums can relate to.
Some mums simply tell it how it is and we love it. Check out this mum’s reaction when she was shamed for breastfeeding in public.
