Normally when someone mentions the word ‘scooter’, I can’t help but cringe. Babyology readers, don’t get me wrong. I’m sure they are loads of fun and they’re a little less obtrusive than a bike. But every time one of my children comes into contact with a scooter, it always ends in tears … I can now confess I’m hatching a plan for all that to change!
Micro have come to my rescue with the Mini Micro Scooter – just one look at this Swiss designed gem and you know you have a safe, quality-made toy on your hands. The three-wheeled design is what initially won me over but the extras just keep on coming. The mini micro is low to the ground so there is less height to fall from. The scooter itself is made from light-weight reinforced plastic, making it easier for little bodies to manoeuvre while the wider plate helps balance. They are designed for the three-and-up group, so everything is on a smaller scale than your typical scooter, which is music to my ears!
There are two colour choices for the mini micro scooter – pink and blue. Micro also have superb scooters for older children and the incredible balance bike that is the G-Bike. Parents everywhere can sigh collectively at the prospect of no bruised shins, minimal scrapes and no chipped teeth or fat lips from too-high steering shafts.
Mini Micro Scooters are available through Micro Scooters for $119.50, including shipping. I have seen this scooter in action with a two, four and five year old (our lucky Babyology child testers!) and it is a really fun toy for all ages.
