Do you remember one-man bands? The guy with cymbals on his knees, a drum on his back and a harmonica strapped to his mouth? I haven’t seen one for years but used to love watching them as a kid, and this great toy reminds me of just that.
The Musical Melody Mix has all the musical instruments your child could want in one handy toy.
Beautifully crafted from sustainable wood, there’s cymbals, a xylophone, bells, maracas, castanets, a drum and a triangle. All are made using child safe paints and lacquers.
Created in Thailand by the I’m Toy company, this is a great ethically produced and well-designed plaything. It’s interesting that the wood comes from old rubberwood trees (a by-product of the rubber industry once they no longer produce latex). The felled trees are re-planted by the toy company and so the cycle continues.
At $84.95, this is your own one-man band for the playroom, plus it’s a good investment to help reduce you and your child’s carbon footprint. Available on-line at Eco Toys, or if you live near Hawthorn, Victoria pop into the Eco Toys store to try one out.
