Mil’s Trills – engaging interactive music for all ages

Mil's Trills

Looking for an album that is full of uplifting energy with a great underlying message? Look no further. This CD will have the kids dancing ‘til they drop.

Now That We’re Friends is a concept album based around friendship and connection by New York band Mil’s Trills. Perfect for kids developing interpersonal skills, as the underlying social philosophy is to be kind to others. All that plus the tunes are just wonderfully uplifting and energetic.

Mil's Trills

The very first track ‘Say Hey!’ let’s us know that just by saying hello to others we can brighten up their day and maybe make some new friends. With a bold ensemble sound that really pops, you know from the first bars of music that your ears will be happy and your body will start bopping to this album.

There are a wide variety of instruments used throughout the album, creating a plethora of fun pop sounds. Meanwhile, each song carries a positive message through clever rhymes that never get too repetitive. It’s hard to pick a favourite track but I love the Calypso style of ‘Just a Little Bit’, a song about how if we all pitch in together we can make good things happen.

The Mil in Mil’s Trills is songstress Amelia Robinson who started the group back in 2010 when she returned to her hometown of Brooklyn and met her new baby niece. Mil began giving little concerts to her niece with her ukulele. Then some more kids and parents came to hear her play. Then more. What started out as get togethers in the park soon grew into sold out shows.

Mil's Trills

The appeal of a Mil’s Trills show is not just the great tunes but the interactivity between audience and players. It is near impossible to listen to Now That We’re Friends without getting involved with the singing and dancing.

Kate was a regular of Melbourne’s music and film scenes, but these days she is on the mum scene. Mother to one adorable little hipster, Kate loves seeking out the latest trends in technology, vintage-style kids clothing, and offbeat kids products. She is often found riding her bike by the Yarra river with baby on back, heading for a good soy latte at the latest kid-friendly cafe. She wants to get there before it becomes cool. So Melbourne.
