Get your dancing shoes on Sydneysiders, there’s a school holiday treat in store for theatre lovers.
Based on the book of the same name by Stephen Michael King, it’s the story of Milli, a solitary shoemaker, who has a special gift for fixing things. In fact, Milli can take a thing that is a nothing and make it a something! But no one in Milli’s town appreciates her talents – they only want ordinary, practical things like boots (black boots, brown boots, everyday work boots). Milli dreams of being brave enough to show everyone what she can really do. But each day is the same, until one morning, two unusual characters dance their way into Milli’s life and everything changes.
For kids that can see the extraordinary in the ordinary (actually, that’s all kids!), this musical adventure is sure to delight.
Milli, Jack and the Dancing Cat is suitable for children ages three to eight years and is on at the Lend Lease Darling Quarter Theatre until 27 July, 2013. Tickets are $25 each. Family and group tickets are also available at a reduced cost. Book directly through Monkey Baa.
